Cohort Guidelines

1) Purpose

This cohort helps artists design sustainable, values-aligned creative lives through daily prompts, Saturday office hours (“Mission Control”), and supportive community.

2) Our guiding stars

  • Kindness over cleverness. Be generous, specific, and curious.

  • First draft, not final. We’re here to iterate.

  • Progress over perfection. Small, consistent actions beat heroic bursts.

3) Inclusion & anti-harassment

Ärtful welcomes all creatives regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, age, ability, or socioeconomic background. Harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or targeted intimidation = removal.

4) Consent & boundaries

  • Feedback: Ask “Would you like feedback or just a witness?”

  • DMs/Tags: Ask before DM’ing or tagging heavily.

  • Sharing: Ask before reposting someone’s work outside the cohort.

5) Confidentiality (and the exceptions)

  • Default: What’s shared in calls/Space stays in the cohort.

  • Exceptions: We may act if there’s risk of harm to self/others, abuse, or as required by law.

  • Replays: Saturday calls may be recorded; access is limited to this cohort.

6) Attribution & intellectual property

  • You own what you share.

  • By posting, you grant Ärtful permission to store and display your content within this cohort.

  • Separate, optional consent will be requested for anonymized quotes or marketing use.

7) Promotion & self-promotion

  • Wins and resources are welcome.

  • No cold pitching, mass DMs, or list-building tactics inside the cohort Space.

  • If someone asks for your link, share away.

8) Accessibility & safety

  • Google Meet captions are on by default.

  • Use content warnings where appropriate (e.g., “CW: grief”).

  • This program is coaching/education—not therapy, legal, or medical advice.

  • If you’re in crisis, contact local services or (U.S.) 988 for immediate support.

9) Tech norms (Meet & Space)

  • Camera optional; name your pronouns if you wish.

  • Mute when not speaking; raise hand/emoji to jump in.

  • In Space: keep threads on topic; start a new thread for new topics.

  • File names: start with YEAR-MONTH-DAY_COHORT##_Topic_Name.

10) Recording & media consent

  • Mission Control may be recorded for internal replay for this cohort only.

  • We’ll ask separately if we ever want to use a clip or quote publicly.

11) Moderation process

  • Nudge: We name the issue and ask for a course-correct.

  • Yellow card: Temporary mute or post approval.

  • Red card: Removal to protect the group (no refund for paid cohorts if violation is clear and documented).
Appeals: email gabe@thriveartfully.com within 7 days.

12) Data & tools

We use Google Meet, Google Chat Spaces, Google Drive/Forms/Sheets, and Squarespace Email Campaigns. We store only what’s needed to run the cohort and improve the experience.
